About the Event
In 8 workshop sessions you learn how to design, and embroider a T-shirt. You will get an organic cotton t-shirt in your chosen size to embroider on as well as all the tools you need to get started with embroidery. All T-shirt designs will be exhibited in the Trashion Factory display window, through community voting the three most voted for T-shirts will be established and the makers of these three T-shirts will learn how to use a computerized embroidery machine and their t-shirts will be sold on the Trashion Factory website.
The first workshop session on Tuesday the 7.9.2020 will be an introduction to the project and sustainable fashion and you will learn how to use collage to find visual ideas.
In the second workshop session on Tuesday the 14.9.2020 you will learn how to easily draw ideas, we will be diving into the world of feminism through symbolism and typo.
The third workshop session on Tuesday the 21.9.2020 we learn the basics of embroidery and get started with our very first embroidery, and learn how to take pictures and video of our work in progress.
The fourth workshop session on Tuesday the 28.9.2020 we learn different embroidery stitches.
The fifth workshop session on the 5.10.2020. We work on a final design idea for the t-shirt, 1-2-1 advice from Olivia the founder of Trashion Factory. We introduce you to the world of online selling and you can get started with your final embroidery.
The sixth workshop is on the 12.10.2020 and we will start to embroider our final T-shirt design. Embroider & Chat.
The seventh workshop is on the 19.10.2020 you have time to embroidery and chat.
We will give you two weeks to work on your embroideries at home and will then return for our final session on the
the 9.11.2020 and it is all about promoting your T-shirt on social media, taking product pictures and self-portraits.
From the 23rd of November the T-shirt designs will be exhibited at Arbeit Market Parade and the community gets to vote on their favortie T-shirt.
The three most voted for T-shirts are sold through the Trashion Factory online shop and the makers are trained on an industrial embroidery machine. The T-shirts will be available on a made-to-order basis.
